朋友讀書讀到一段詩傳來勉勵
Do not go gentle into that good night.

不要溫順地走入那長夜

這是〈Do Not Go Gentle into That Night〉詩中,一段頭尾兩句的呼應。
原是詩人Dylan Thomas 寫給病危的父親,希望他最後一搏(呃,你有沒有太狠)。
後來被引用在人們面對絕境時,要保有希望,不要屈服。
這次是讀《當大腦開始崩潰》,一個看來有遺傳失智症家族的訪談後,一位家屬說,「如果要用一首詩含括我們此時的想法,那會是Dylan Thomas的〈Do Not Go Gentle into That Night〉。因為我們並未放棄,所有那些研究和報導......那只是我們表達『去你的,我們還有話要說』的方式而已。」
我想,或面對為所當為的事。
